COVID-19 is a pandemic that has been in the country for two years now. It still continues to greatly affect people’s lives especially in the informal settlement. Being a fairly new virus, there is need to educate people about it so as to ensure they have the correct information and combat any myths that may be spreading around how the virus is spread and prevented.

With the vaccine having been introduced, it is also important for people to be sensitized about the matter. In order to achieve this, we went back to the community to continue doing sensitization to the community members.

For a period of two months (April and May), MuYI in partnership with Oxfam-Kenya has been collecting perceptions around matters concerning COVID-19 in Mukuru with the help of our champions. Apart from collecting the perceptions, our champions interacted with different community members to spread messages on COVID-19 through one on one conversations and sharing IEC materials.
