Project Manager Vacancy
Mukuru Youth Initiative (MuYI) is seeking a professional and motivated individual to join its team for a Project Manager (PM), based in the Nairobi, Mukuru Kwa Reuben, MuYI HUB.
Mukuru Youth Initiative (MuYi) focuses on youth empowerment through civic engagement, social enterprise, and artistic expression. Since establishment in 2015, MuYi has created a robust and supportive network for local creatives and passionate youth leaders. The MuYi hub in Mukuru Kwa Reuben slum, in Nairobi-Kenya, provides a free meeting space for youth to learn. The outreach of Mukuru Youth Initiative expands beyond Kwa Reuben into neighboring Mukuru informal settlements of Kwa Njenga, Viwandani, and Kayaba. Additionally, MuYI facilitate engagement between youth, the local administration and leadership, teaching young people how to use their voices in the decision-making process.
The project manager will act as the point person on assigned projects and is expected to work closely with upper management to ensure that the scope and direction of each project is on schedule. The project manager will act as the bridge between upper management and the departments tasked with the actual execution of a project. This role will define project scopes, determine available resources, estimate time commitments, and monitor and report progress.
Requirement
Bachelor’s Degree in project management, business, or a related discipline; ●At least one year of professional experience in project management ●Experience in strategic planning and/or change management Additional Eligibility Qualifications

●Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
●Self-motivated
●Strong analytical skills to be able to solve problems that may come up during a typical workday

RESPONSIBILITIES

●Create feasible plans that achieve the goals of assigned projects and that align with organization’s overall program strategy.
●Assemble and lead project teams by assigning tasks and deadlines. ●Document project progression by noting victories and defeats to use in future project planning.

Supervisory Responsibility
Although no one will report to the project manager directly, this role will require the temporary supervision of other roles/departments involved in completing a project to ensure everyone remains on track to reach project goals.
